Legal framework

The law puts TNR at the centre. We provide the tool.

Managing feral cat colonies through trap, neuter and return takes order and traceability. FaunaNet helps you do it right, and prove it.

  • Every intervention, logged on the animal’s record.
  • The town’s annual report, with the year’s data.
  • Each organisation with its own permissions, and the council with the full picture.

FAQ

What people ask us.

What is FaunaNet?

A web app for managing a town’s feral cat colonies: a record for every cat, a step-by-step TNR protocol, reports from neighbours, a colony map and an annual PDF report. The council, associations, vets and carers all work in the same tool.

What does Spain’s Law 7/2023 require for feral cat colonies?

It makes local authorities responsible for managing feral cat colonies through TNR (trap, neuter and return), with a colony census and identification of the cats. FaunaNet helps you record all of it and report on it. Full text of the law in the BOE (Spanish).

How much does it cost?

It depends on the town’s population. Complete the six-step proposal and you’ll see the price at the end, itemised and including VAT.

Do I need to install anything?

No. FaunaNet runs in the browser: everyone logs in with their own account.

We already keep a census in Excel. Do we lose it?

No. We can take care of migrating and importing the data you already have.

Do you train the team?

Yes. We offer tailored, in-person training for council staff and organisations.

I’m a carer or volunteer. Can I use it?

Yes, through your association or your council. Tell us you want to join.
